Lockdown System Testing at Waterloo and Brantford Campus – Monday, August 25, 2025

Facilities and Asset Management (FAM) & Special Constable Service (SCS) will be conducting a multi-campus lockdown test, testing the Lockdown Button, to confirm that all campus doors are locking properly. The tests will take place on Monday, August 25, 2025 during the following times:

• Waterloo and Kitchener campus: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
• Brantford campus: 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

The lockdown button is only used in an emergency to lock buildings that face an immediate threat and is part of Laurier’s emergency procedures. To learn more, please visit the Emergency Procedures page.

The lockdown testing will last no longer than an hour and includes ALL buildings on campus. During the lockdown all exterior facing building doors will be locked. Those inside the buildings will be able to leave, however no one will be able to enter. Please plan accordingly.
