Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

There are three ways you can support your application to Laurier:
At Laurier, we believe extracurricular involvement and personal achievements are important. We can consider your extracurricular involvement when reviewing your application if you fill out our Applicant Background Summary (ABS) form after you apply. You are encouraged to submit the form within two weeks of applying to Laurier.
Note: If you have applied to more than one Laurier program on your OUAC application, you only need to submit the ABS form once.
The decision to disclose a disability is yours alone – secondary schools do not send their files to any postsecondary institution. If you choose to disclose a disability, make sure you submit supporting documentation to our Recruitment and Admissions office within two weeks of applying to Laurier. Learn more by visiting our Accessible Learning page.
If you have recently experienced any health or personal problems which you believe have adversely affected your ability to achieve the academic standing you would normally have expected, please submit a separate letter explaining the circumstances, as well as third party supporting documentation.
If you are currently attending a secondary school, it would be advisable for you to discuss having a school guidance official make a submission on your behalf.
Please make arrangements to have this documentation sent directly to the Recruitment and Admissions office within two weeks of applying to Laurier.
