Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Once you have applied to Laurier, you will receive a confirmation email with your LORIS account log-in information. This will allow you to view your application status online and check to see when we have received your documents.

To ensure you receive our emails, please add to your address book or “safe sender” list in your email account, because we will be communicating with you by email over the next few months.

When you request for your transcript(s) to be sent to Laurier, it can take two to three weeks for Laurier to receive the documentation. Your application will take two to four weeks to process after we have received all required documents.

Application Processing Delays

The Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) is currently backlogged and ask for your patience as they process applications.

Due to the backlog, we are currently processing a high volume of applications and it is taking more time to send confirmation emails for fall 2017 applications submitted through OUAC. Application information is being processed in the order in which it is received from OUAC and we are anticipating a processing time of up to two weeks for confirmation emails to be sent for these applications. If you do not receive a confirmation message from us within two weeks of applying, please check your junk mail first and let us know if you haven’t received our email. You can call +1.519.884.0710 x3385 or email us at

Checking Your Application Status

To access your application status online, you will need:

  • Your Laurier ID number. This number is in the confirmation email we sent you; please check your email.
    • Alternately, if you have your OUAC number, you can figure out your Laurier ID number. Take away the first two digits of your OUAC number, and add a zero at the end. For example, if your OUAC number is 2013-680012, your Laurier ID number is 136800120.
  • Your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN is your date of birth (month, day, year) in the format MMDDYY. For example, if your date of birth is Dec. 31, 1993, your PIN is 123193.

How to log in to LORIS for the first time:

  • Go to the LORIS website (Online Viewing).
  • Log in using your nine-digit student ID# and a personal identification number (PIN). The first time you use LORIS, your PIN number will be your date of birth in the format MMDDYY. You’ll need to change your PIN and add secret questions as soon as you log in.
  • If you enter the wrong PIN five times, LORIS will lock you out. If this happens, contact Recruitment and Admissions at
