Banks has served in many administrative positions, such as BBA Director, External Programs Director, Area Coordinator for the Accounting Area, Associate Dean and Acting Dean within the School of Business and Economics. He has also served as a member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and Vice-President of the Wilfrid Laurier University Faculty Association.
Banks has taught Accounting Information Systems, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Accounting and Management Accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Banks has had articles published in the Journal of International Accounting Auditing and Taxation, Contemporary Issues in Business and Government, Australian Accountant, Credit and Financial Management Review, Journal of Retail Banking and Decision Sciences. He has been involved in a number of research projects including credit card scoring models, multimedia educational software and solutions algorithms for the classification problem. His current research focus relates to financial and non-financial accountability reporting by not-for-profit institutions.
