Tina received her doctorate from the University of Toronto and prior to joining Laurier, she worked at Queen’s University and Texas A & M University.
My research program is currently anchored in three intersecting domains: custodianship and traditions, community and social entrepreneurship, and place-based organizing. My work investigates how actors—whether entrepreneurs, professionals, or community members—mobilize traditions and local knowledge to drive strategic change and foster inclusive futures. I have published extensively in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Studies, Organization Science, Organization Studies, and Strategic Management Journal. Our early work published in the Academy of Management Perspectives on social entrepreneurship was recognized by the Academy of Management as amongst the most cited publication over a decade.
My work has been recognized with awards including the Academy of Management Perspectives Decade Award, the Responsible Research in Management Award, and other awards and recognition for research including the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada and at Queen’s University and Texas A & M University. Since 2021, I have been included annually in Stanford’s list of the top 2% most cited scholars worldwide.
