I am a Lecturer in Marketing at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. I hold an MBA with a focus in Marketing and Technology Strategy and a BSc in Computing and Physics from Wilfrid Laurier University. My work focuses on digital marketing strategy, AI adoption, and the governance frameworks organizations need to use emerging platforms responsibly.
Prior to joining Laurier, I spent over 20 years in digital leadership roles at Manulife Financial and Sun Life Financial, followed by eight years at Conestoga College as a Professor of Marketing and, later, Professor and Program Coordinator of the Social Media Marketing Graduate Certificate, leading curriculum design and global collaborative learning initiatives. I also lead SyPer Digital, a consulting practice in digital strategy and AI adoption.
My research interests centre on how organizations navigate platform disruption and the integration of AI into their marketing and communications strategies. I am particularly interested in how responsible adoption frameworks develop in practice, the gap between emerging capability and organizational readiness, and the governance structures that help bridge it. I draw on over two decades leading enterprise digital transformation and an active consulting practice to ground this work in real organizational challenges, with a focus on AI governance in marketing contexts and the evolving role of social platforms in brand strategy and audience engagement.
