Jerzy (Jurek) Konieczny received an MA from Warsaw University (where he also studied mathematics) and a PhD from Western University. He joined the Laurier faculty in 1987. His primary area of teaching and research is macroeconomics, in particular the microfoundations of sticky prices and menu cost models. His other research interests include transition and industrial organization. His recent research focuses on the behaviour of prices, and of price setters, regular adjustment, distribution of price changes over time as well as on testing menu cost model.
He is the editor of the Review of Economic Analysis (rofea.org), an open access electronic journal, and is Director of the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis (rcfea.org). He is organizing the Rimini Conference in Economics and Finance, which will take place at the Lazaridis School and CIGI, Sept. 16 to 18, 2016.
