Join Dean Kyle Murray and LazSoc Co-Presidents Abby Yim and Ella Jazvac for a bright look into Laurier’s BBA program, the business student experience, balancing a busy lifestyle, and the importance of getting involved in student clubs.
The student leaders chat with the Dean about what makes the Lazaridis BBA program unique , the impact of experiential learning opportunities and curricular events, how extracurricular activities enrich day-to-day life, and fostering student communities.

Abby is a fourth-year BBA co-op student at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, concentrating in Finance and minoring in Education. She has completed co-op terms as a Client Relationship Management Intern at Brookfield Asset Management and most recently, as an Investments Intern at Prime Quadrant. Abby loves playing team sports and is also co-captain of Laurier's Women's Ultimate Frisbee Team. You can also find her playing intramural soccer and volleyball .
Ella is a third-year BBA student at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, concentrating in Accounting and minoring in Computer Science. She i has previously worked at Scotiabank as a corporate credit risk intern in Global Risk Management. She also currently works for The Beat Goes On which is a vinyl, CD, and DVD store that was founded here in Waterloo. She enjoys hobbies such as playing basketball and baking for her roommates and club executives.
Together, Abby and Ella are Co-Presidents of the Lazaridis Students' Society (LazSoc), the official undergraduate student governing body for the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics on Laurier’s Waterloo campus. The Lazaridis Students’ Society acts as a link between students, faculty, and members of the business and economics community. Each semester, LazSoc offers resources, programs, and unique events tailored to broaden students’ professional and personal development. They also support the initiatives and programming of the 24 Lazaridis business and economics clubs and associations committed to the development of key student interests.
