Somayeh Fatahi received her PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Tehran, Iran in 2016. She has worked as an assistant professor at the Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (IranDoc) and as a research assistant at Dalhousie University, collaborating with the Institute for Big Data Analytics.
Before joining Wilfrid Laurier University, she was a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan, focusing on machine learning, applied AI, large language models, and human-computer interaction.
She has over 10 years of teaching experience at various universities, and her research emphasizes user modeling, human-centered AI applications in education, business, and health, data analytics, and machine learning.
