Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

After completing my BMus at the University of Toronto, my husband and I moved to Miami where I was a member of the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, the Florida Grand Opera Orchestra and the Southwest Florida Symphony for many years. I was an active teacher, coach and clinician during my time in Florida, with students ranging from ages 4 to 80, at all levels of ability. In 2015, we decided to move back to Ontario in order to raise our children close to family and in my home country. I have been fortunate over the last few years to meet many new fantastic colleagues and beloved students here in Kitchener-Waterloo.
Teaching is a true passion for me. Enriching the lives of children through music education is a privilege that I have enjoyed for all of my professional life. I love the challenge of figuring out how to help each individual student realize their personal potential. I believe that every student should have the chance to feel excited about the music they produce on their instrument.
