Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I am delighted to bring my keen interest in piano performance and pedagogy to the Beckett School at Laurier, and to the Kitchener-Waterloo community at large. I am an accomplished pianist, clarinet player and music therapist, and I enjoy teaching over 60 students each week.
My formal accreditation includes an Honours Bachelor of Music (BMus) from Laurier, studying with Terry Kroetsch, and an Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy (BMT) from Laurier. I have also completed my Associate of the Royal Conservatory (ARCT) in piano performance and advanced piano pedagogy with Canada’s Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). In 2009 I was awarded the gold medal for attaining the highest examination mark in Ontario in an RCM Intermediate Pedagogy examination.
I strive to be a creative teacher, and my goal is inspire each student to love playing the piano and exploring music in general. My students win awards each year in the Kitchener-Waterloo Kiwanis Music Festival, and distinguish themselves annually in the Canadian RCM examinations. I take great pride in my work, and I look forward to many more years of teaching with the Beckett School at Laurier.
