Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I hold a number of certificates related to teaching and childhood music:
I am President of the Ontario Chapter of Carl Orff Canada and Web Administrator and National Board Member of Carl Orff Canada.
Music has been my main passion for many years. I was a professional musician from 1975 to 2000, performing as a vocalist in Ontario dance bands. During that time, I also taught music at nursery schools, Montessori schools and public libraries in the Toronto area.
In 1998, I became a teacher for the York Region District School Board (YRDSB), teaching music to students in Kindergarten through grade six. I also taught gifted students in grades five and six. I was a member of the YRDSB’s Arts Team, where I worked on several projects and gave workshops on teaching music through the creative process. I retired in 2016, and moved to Kitchener with my husband.
Making music should be fun, playful, creative and available to everyone. I am a strong believer in creating the atmosphere for life-long learning.
