Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I hold a Bachelor of Music (BMus) and a Bachelor of Education (BEd) from Laurier.
I have lived in Kitchener-Waterloo my whole life and grew up taking music lessons at the Beckett School at Laurier. I began violin instruction at the age of five from an incredible teacher who fostered my love of music.
My passion for music extends into the classroom where I am a full-time music teacher with the Waterloo Region District School Board. I am also involved in the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Youth Orchestra Program as the conductor of the Preludium Strings ensemble for beginner musicians.
Growing up, I also took piano lessons from a very passionate teacher who helped me to complete my Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) grade 10 piano exam. Now, I enjoy accompanying my students, my choirs at school and myself from time to time (as I also love to sing).
Music is for everyone! Age should never be a deterrent from taking music lessons. I teach music to a wide variety of ages and abilities. I strive to meet my students where they are, and help them work towards whatever goal they have.
