Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.
I am an American composer, performer, and teacher. As a youth, I mentored under musicians from the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. An active trumpeter, I have premiered several of my own works, as well as new works by my colleagues. I continue to collaborate with New York jazz musicians Oscar Williams II, Nicole Glover, Nic Cacioppo, and Steven Kirsty. While being innately drawn to the lyricism of opera composers from Monteverdi to Dallapiccola, my music is at the same time passionately propelled by jazz. My output as a whole represents an ongoing and varied process of combining these elements into an ever-evolving, distinctive form of contemporary concert music.
