Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I was born in China and I started playing the violin when I was four years old. I fell in love and became passionate about music very quickly. At the age of twelve, I was accepted into the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
I have performed solo recitals and chamber music in many countries such as China, Japan, France, USA and Canada. As an orchestra musician, I had the privilege to play in many major orchestras in Canada such as the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Regina Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra. In the upcoming season, I will be playing with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony as associate principal second violin.
Equally passionate about teaching, I have taught in music schools such as West Island Conservatory of Music and Vivaldi Academy of Music. My students have frequently participated and won top prizes in the Kiwanis Music festival.
I like to make sure my students have good fundamentals. I believe having a good foundation is essential for good violin playing. I also would like to help my students develop their own music ideas and give them the opportunity to perform regularly.
