I hold a Bachelor of Music from Laurier where I studied organ, viola and composition. As a musician who wears many hats, depending on the day - or even the hour - I enjoy a varied career in a number of musical pursuits. As the music director at the Anglican Church of the Holy Saviour in Waterloo, I direct the parish choir in an ambitious and varied music program. I sing professionally with the Canadian Chamber Choir and the Elora Festival Singers.
As a composer, I have had commissions from across Canada, the U.S. and New Zealand. My works have been performed and recorded widely throughout North America, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and Dubai. My music is published through Cypress Music, Morningstar Music, Alliance Publishing, Kelman Hall and Renforth. I am also the Composer-in-residence with the Canadian Chamber Choir and have held a similar position with the Canadian Men’s Chorus.
Having had many different teachers over the years with many different styles and approaches, I have tried to take the best parts of each and tailor my teaching to each individual student. I enjoy teaching children and adults alike, and believe that laughter, enjoyment, learning and hard work can and should go hand in hand. I have taught students from ages six through 84 and have also learned from all of them.
