I received my PhD in Media Studies from the University of Western Ontario in 2024 and my MA in Journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 2010. I am a postdoctoral associate at the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario.
The primary focus of my research lies at the intersection of emerging technologies, statecraft, and political communication. Participatory propaganda, designing in the context of government, and community-engaged methods for addressing emerging needs contribute to how emerging technologies inform and shape the democratic processes. My ongoing projects on environmental communication, facial recognition technology, and journalism interrogate these processes.
