I hold a PhD from the University of Waterloo (2008) for interdisciplinary research using modernisation theory to examine the experiences of individuals serving in the Canadian Forces. I used a similar framework to examine internationalisation in post secondary institutions. I remain interested in the late-modern experience of individuals operating within large organizations.
Prior to becoming a professor, I had a ten-year career in Information Technology and have worked globally in public and private sector roles.
Starting in 2015, I served as Laurier's senior administrator responsible for leading the successful effort to obtain Ashoka ChangeMaker Campus status (2016), amalgamate the Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation (2017), and create a range of social innovation and entrepreneurship programming across the Waterloo and Brantford campuses. I am currently enjoying earned leave until Winter 2020.
