I earned a PhD in Accounting from University of Waterloo. I also have an MA in Economics from University of Toronto, and a joint master’s degree in financial economics from Ca’ Fosari University of Venice and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. I joined Laurier in 2017.
My primary research interest is understanding the (un)intended implication of financial reporting policy choices, both mandatory reporting policy per accounting standards and voluntary policy choices by managers. I am also interested in a wide range of topics in financial accounting, including financial institutions and financial analysts.
