Biography
I am a proud Franco-Ontarian and joined the Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University as an Assistant Professor in July 2026. I completed my PhD in social work at the University of Ottawa in 2025. My doctoral research examined how Francophone social movements in Canada define and advance social justice.
My research and teaching focus on social justice in social work practice (direct and indirect), social policy (poverty, housing, social inequalities), domestic violence, social movements, and Francophone minority communities. I bring more than 15 years of experience in community development across Ontario, Québec and Nova Scotia, as well as over 10 years of experience in the federal and provincial public service. Before joining Laurier, I was an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Laurentian University (Sudbury, Ontario). Earlier in my career, I served as Manager of Projects and Policies, Domestic Violence Initiatives, at the Nova Scotia Department of Justice.
I remain actively engaged in Francophone and community organizations, including as a member of the board of the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (the national organisation reprsentating francophone and acadien communities situated in a lingustic minority setting). I am also a member of the FemAnVi research collective and the editorial board of the academic journal Reflets.
