Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Teaching with the Laurier Association for Lifelong Learning (LALL) is a rewarding opportunity to share your knowledge with an engaged and dynamic group of learners. These personal development, non-credit courses are an excellent way to get involved on Laurier's campus.

Why Teach with LALL?

LALL is a unique option for adult learning. The big distinction between a LALL course and a for-credit university course is that LALL courses have no exams, no grading and no prerequisites. It's both teaching and learning for the love of it.

Our LALL instructors are provided with support from staff in our Office of Professional Development. Our staff will handle all the logistics and registration, leaving you to do what you're best at – the teaching. You will be responsible for developing your course and facilitating each in-class session. Instructors are compensated with a stipend for each course taught.

How to Become a Teacher with LALL

We are always looking for new instructors to join our LALL program. If you have questions regarding our program, contact our office or view our course offerings page to see examples of courses offered this term.

If you have a course in mind, submit the course proposal form for consideration. Our program staff will contact you within five business days of your submission.

Who can Teach with LALL?

We welcome instructors from all backgrounds to teach with LALL, such as those with formal instructing backgrounds, subject matter experts or those with a deep understanding and passion for a topic.  When applying to propose a course for the first time, we ask you to submit a CV/resume to help us understand your teaching history and qualifications to teach your proposed course.
