For Immediate Release
WATERLOO – Laurier’s Lazaridis School of Business & Economics will host the second event in its Economist-in-Residence speaker series Nov. 10. The school will welcome Jeffry Frieden, professor of government at Harvard University and author of Currency Politics. Frieden will present a keynote on "The Future of International Finance” to Lazaridis School students.
“This year’s Economist-in-Residence lecture could not be more current and important,” said Bill Morrison, an associate professor at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. “Today as globalization continues and free trade deals with Europe and Asia top the headlines, it is unclear how the institutions governing international financial markets will evolve. Will we become more or less vulnerable to financial crises around the world? Will there be more or less global regulation and transparency required of financial markets?”
Frieden’s keynote will take place Nov. 10 at 11:30 a.m. in the Paul Martin Centre at Laurier’s Waterloo Campus. All are welcome to attend by registering at LazaridisSchoolEconomist.ticketfi.com.
