We live in a pretty complex world. At Laurier, we help you develop the skills you need to really make a difference in the communities you touch. By mixing in-class learning with outside involvement, you’ll get a well-rounded education. Put theory into practice through a variety of activities, including fieldwork, placements, practicums, community service-learning and co-op.
The best part is, at Laurier, we can keep a record of all the stuff you do outside the classroom, and you’ll graduate with something called a Co-Curricular Record that proves to employers just how well-rounded your education was.
Check out our Getting Involved page for even more ways you can get experience outside the classroom. There’s no end to the ways you can supplement your academic experience at Laurier – you’ll find something that suits your needs and your interests.
A racecar driver, an entrepreneur, an inspired volunteer, and a storyteller – these are just a few of the stories that will be highlighted in a new Laurier video series called Outside the Classroom.
Throughout the fall, we’re posting videos featuring Laurier students with special hobbies who have been inspired to follow their passions. You’ll learn their story, their dreams for the future, and how Laurier has helped them get to where they are today.
Our students value helping others: Laurier has the highest proportion of students and alumni with volunteer experience compared to other universities worldwide, according to LinkedIn.
