Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

The Diversity Art Series investigates and discerns a selection of important social justice issues experience by minoritized students and allies on the Brantford campus. The series serves as a contribution to an ongoing endeavour to illuminate and archive the narratives of those impacted by systemic inequities. Using a variety of mediums, a group of student artists and one community partner have interpreted a range of collective lived experiences within a thematic focus determined by the student leaders from the Centre for Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. The series offers unique pieces that will be accompanied by a Diversity Art Night that will engage the Laurier community in a dialogue about diversity and equity through art.
The event will feature "TED talk" style presentations on the issues depicted within the art series. Refreshments will follow the talks.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Centre for Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (CSEDI) strives to foster an atmosphere of equity-seeking and inclusion at Laurier. We promote empowerment and education as a means of eradicating the barriers that inhibit access to equal opportunities. CSEDI Brantford currently houses seven student-led services including SOUL, Queer Sphere, My Respect, the Women's Centre, Student Advocates for Accessibility, Inward and the Muslim Students' Association. Inspired by their lived experiences, they offer a network of support to diverse students and educational opportunities for the institution at large.
