Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

For those families in need of financial assistance, there are a limited number of bursaries available. Please note that LEAP may not be able to fill all funding requests.

Note: Currently, we only have guaranteed funding for children living in Woolwich County. We anticipate having unrestricted funds before camp begins so feel free to submit an application form and we will be in touch if funding becomes available.

LEAP has been fortunate to receive bursary funding from the following organizations:

  • The Kiwanis Club of Elmira
  • The Kiwanis Club of North Waterloo
  • The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation
  • The Waterloo Region Record
  • Lyle S. Hallman Foundation Kids to Camp Fund

We greatly appreciate all the support provided from these organizations. Thank you for making campers’ LEAP goals a reality!

Bursary Procedure

Complete the Bursary Application Form (two pages) as well as the appropriate LEAP registration form to apply for financial assistance. Bursary applications will be reviewed at the end of each month and we will contact you to verify whether your request has been approved.

If your child has not attended LEAP before, a letter from your child's classroom and/or special education resource teacher outlining their suitability for the program is required. If the teacher is familiar with your situation, they may also include information on your child's need for financial assistance, but this is not mandatory.
