Meet with Us

Choosing a university can be a tough decision for both parents and students, especially when that school is in another country.

To help you through this process, we have created several online opportunities for you to connect with us, ask questions, and learn more about Laurier.

Watch one of our international student webinars, connect with a current student or global alumni, or meet with one of our admissions staff members

Virtual Open House: Replay

This year's spring Open House was hosted online meaning you can experience Laurier from the comfort of your home even now that the live events are over! Discover so much more about life at Laurier by watching our on-demand Open House webinars featuring the insights and advice of alumni, current students, parents, staff and faculty.

Don't miss out on the helpful content from our international-themed Open House week! We discussed everything from how to learn in a new culture, to residence and homestay programs to how Laurier International can support you during your transition to Canada and throughout your degree.

Watch a Webinar

Attend one of our upcoming webinars to learn more about Laurier. Webinars include a live presentation followed by a question and answer period. You can ask questions throughout the webinar, too.

There are currently no upcoming live webinar presentations, but you can view recordings of our previous webinars.

Meet our International Alumni

There's a lot to consider when picking a university in another country and our alumni ambassadors are here to help you navigate this exciting journey over the course of the summer. Connect with one of our team members through their profile.

Don't know what to ask? Here are some of the questions our international ambassadors considered when they were thinking about choosing Laurier.

  • How did your Laurier degree/experience help you in being success in your current role?
  • Did you have plans to work internationally after graduation?
  • Do you have any suggestions on how to approach international positions?
  • What was your favourite class at Laurier?

Our international student ambassadors are from different countries, backgrounds, programs and experiences. We're proud that our team finished out the 2020/21 academic year strong and is now enjoying their summer vacation. Read their profiles below to learn more about some of your fellow Laurier students.

Meet an International Recruiter

We're here to help. We would like to invite you to meet one-on-one with an international recruiter. This is a great way to learn more about all Laurier has to offer, as well as an opportunity to discuss your application and what's next in the admissions process.

Our Team

Danish

Hi future Golden Hawks! My name is Danish and I have been a member of the Laurier community since 2009. Laurier afforded me with a well-rounded student experience: I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, worked as a research assistant and tutor, and helped students feel at home as a resident advisor. Post-graduation, I decided to take some time to travel across the country. I lived in Japan for 8 months, improving my Japanese language skills and working as a ramen chef in Tokyo. What an adventure!

Currently, I am enrolled in the part-time MBA program at Laurier and work as an international recruitment and admissions coordinator. I regularly interact with international students from the continent of Africa, the Middle East and Pakistan. I would be more than happy to share with you my experiences as a student at Laurier and answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to reach out – I look forward to meeting you!

Bisi

Hi! My name is Bisi, and it's a delight to be one of the International Recruiters at Laurier. I work with a community of like-minded and passionate folks committed to helping each other achieve success. I am inspired daily by the community of faculty and staff committed to supporting our students' success.

I am currently completing my Master's in Education at Laurier. As an international student who moved to Canada eight years ago to study at Lambton College, I feel a sense of gratitude for my decision to pursue my post-secondary education in Canada.

I look forward to connecting with you, sharing my personal experiences as an international student, and learning more about your goals and dreams.

"Laurier is much more than just a place, it is an experience, it is a community and it is a feeling. While you are here you will learn new things and you will explore subjects and extracurricular activities that interest and intimidate you. You will meet new friends and you will be supported by staff, faculty and your peers. At Laurier you will succeed beyond your academics, at Laurier, you will soar."

Devyn Kelly, 2020/21 Students’ Union President and CEO
