Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Welcome future Golden Hawks!

I'm so excited that you guys have decided to consider Laurier and all the fantastic things it has to offer. My name is Yerie Park, and I'm currently in my third year of my Bachelor of Kinesiology program. My experience so far at Laurier has been absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t be happier that I ended up here.

Ever since my own first tour at Laurier, I had a feeling it was the right fit for me. The small campus reminded me of the community I grew up in, Hespeler, which is in Cambridge. When I learned about the opportunities that Laurier had to offer, especially to first-year students, it sealed the deal. I was always very involved, and Laurier provided me with many opportunities to continue being involved. In first year, I had the chance to be part of Laurier's figure skating team and also joined the Residence Athletic Council volleyball team. In second year, I joined our ambassador team, and continued to be a part of intramural teams, such as dodgeball. I was also involved with the Emergency Response Team. Now in third year, I am continuing on the ambassador team and I am now working with the men’s and women’s soccer teams as the student athletic trainer. I am also continuing with being part of the Emergency Response Team in addition to joining Shinerama, which is a great organization that support Cystic Fibrosis. All of these experiences are shaping who I am becoming and have made Laurier my home away from home.

Whatever you choose to do here at Laurier, you are going to enjoy it. I wish you the best of luck with your time here, and hope to see you around campus. Show off that amazing school spirit that Laurier is known for, and stay golden!
