Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Campus Ambassador
Third-Year Business Administration
Burlington, ON

Hey future Golden Hawks!

My name is Sarah Tompkins, and I am in my third year of the Business Administration program. I grew up in Burlington, but after two amazing years, Laurier has become my home. This will be my second year as an ambassador, and I’m so excited to be able to share my experiences with you and help you make Laurier your home, too!

First off, I just want to say that I’m so happy you are considering Laurier for your postsecondary education! I fell in love with Laurier because of the tight-knit community, the high energy and all of the amazing opportunities to get involved. It was on my first tour of Laurier that I knew it was exactly the place for me.

In my first two years, I was able to get involved in my residence House Council as the vice-president of training and development, the Residence Volunteer Program, and the Volunteer Visit Program. I was also able to participate in Orientation Week, Hawk Weekend and Group Fitness, in addition to being a Laurier Campus Ambassador. Everything I have been involved in so far has been able to shape what has been the best experience of my life. There are so many opportunities at Laurier to find exactly what you love, and, if you can’t, there are even more opportunities to start something new!

I cannot picture myself anywhere else but Laurier, and I am confident that you will love it here just as much as I do. I am so happy to be an ambassador again, to answer all of your questions, and to help you with anything you may need as you start your journey into postsecondary education. Hopefully I can give you a tour around campus sometime soon! These will be the best years of your life, so remember to cherish all of the memories, and of course, stay golden!
