Third-Year Psychology and Communication Studies
Hello future Golden Hawks!
I’ve heard it said that home is not where you live, but where you are best understood, and there is no place I feel better understood and embraced than at Wilfrid Laurier University. My name is Lindsey Feltis, I am in my third year here at Laurier and I am majoring in Psychology and Communication Studies.
I fell in love with Laurier the moment I stepped foot on campus. It was my orientation week experience, the people, the atmosphere, the spirit and the passion that inspired me to get involved in Laurier life right away. In my first year I had the opportunity to be the vice-president of training and development on my residence House Council and a First-Year Project executive. I was also a member of our Free the Children club, Five Days for the Homeless Club and Laurier’s Mental Health Education Group. In the past few years I have also volunteered during Orientation Week as an icebreaker, was a member of Hiring and Recruitment and volunteered with Peer Connect aiming to eliminate stigma surrounding mental illness. I have recently joined an intramural dodgeball team and I’m loving it. There truly is something for everyone here at Laurier.
I know that choosing a university can be quite the rollercoaster. It is one of the most exciting, nerve-wracking, overwhelmingly wonderful decisions you will ever make and every day I am reminded that choosing Laurier was the best decision I have ever made. I wish you the best of luck in taking the first step of this exciting ride and highly encourage you to come check out Laurier, experience our school spirit and take a tour with one of our amazing ambassadors!
I can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to the Golden Hawk family.
