Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Hello future Golden Hawks!

My name is Lia Bolzon, and I am a fourth year BBA student here at Laurier, specializing in finance. Within my time here, I’ve had so many experiences that have allowed me to grow and develop into the proud Golden Hawk I am today. This is my first year on the ambassador team, and I’m excited to show you why we’re all so proud to call Laurier home.

The main reasons why I chose Laurier were for the strong academic reputation and the amount of opportunities to make an impact here on campus. Being a Laurier student means that you have the opportunities to develop and explore your interests, while being part of a close-knit community that has no shortage of school spirit!

This past year I was fortunate enough to be the team Captain of JDCC Laurier, which is Laurier’s national business case competition team. I have also been a three-time Executive on the Lazaridis Students’ Society, which is an organization that supports all 22 business clubs and associations. Laurier is a place that fosters passionate leaders, and getting involved in extra circulars has completely shaped my university experience.

Choosing a university is no easy feat; remember to take the time to figure out what you hope to achieve out of your four years, and where you see yourself being happy. Through coming to Laurier, I can honestly say that I have become a better student, a better leader, and ultimately, a better person.

Best of luck in making your decision, and I hope to see you all on campus!
