Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Campus Ambassador
Third-Year Business Administration
Nanjing, China

Hello, my name is Wenyu and I am currently a third-year Business student. I am an international student from China and came here three years ago by myself!

I couldn’t tell you more how much I love Laurier! Laurier was such a right choice for me! I got so many chances to volunteer during my first two years. I volunteered on LEAF Day and Open House Day many times and I found my personal passion in taking tours and sharing my stories. Then I applied for International Ambassador, which allows my interests to become my job! I hope my knowledge of Laurier and my passion in helping others will make myself a qualified ambassador. I am extremely happy to work with other ambassadors to leave good impressions on others and to bring energy to incoming students!

The most enjoyable places to go on campus are the Career Center and Laurier International office. I feel like Laurier International is like a home away from home. It has frequent drop-in lunches and provides an opportunity for us to catch up with each other. The Career Centre holds occasional events for students to connect with alumni and professionals who may be a key for you in getting a job offer. The Career Centre even has a consultant who specializes in helping international students with their job search! Every September, the ISWEP program has over 20 positions that only international students can apply for.

I have had a great time here so far and benefit from the various services that Laurier provided. I hope you figure out your needs and that Laurier will satisfy them all! See you at Laurier!
