Students are placed on Academic Probation when they have completed 4.0 credit attempts at Laurier, and have a cumulative grade point average (G.P.A) between 2.00 and 3.99. If you are on probation, it means something must change for you to achieve academic success at university. Consider Academic Probation an early warning system.
An Academic Hold has been placed on your LORIS account.
In order to access course registration on LORIS, you must submit this form. Questions with a * notation are mandatory. It is also very important to review your course selection either in person or by phone with an Academic Advisor so please book an appointment for 30 minutes (or two consecutive 15 minute appointments).
Students are reassessed after 4.0 credit attempts (which may be spread over more than one academic year). You must raise your overall GPA to at least 4.0 (C-) by the end of the probationary period or you will be required to withdraw from the University. Students on probation may enrol in a maximum of 2.0 credits (or four .5 credit classes) per term.
The University Calendar regulations concerning Academic Probation are found here.
You only have one probation period, and we recommend that you consider using the GPA program at Learning Services to help you achieve success in the terms ahead. The Career Development Centre, Counselling Services, Health Services, Accessible Learning, and/or Financial Support Services, are also available to provide support.
