Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

When Are Tuition Fees Due?

Fall term fees are due in early September. Winter term fees are due in early January.

Your tuition invoice will appear online on LORIS. Look under the Student Services tab and select "View Student Invoice." Fall term tuition fees are assessed in mid-July and early August, and adding or dropping courses may change the amount owing. Winter term fees are assessed and invoiced in late November. Check your account status on LORIS at any time after the assessment date. The full amount should be paid by the due date to avoid paying late fees.

How Can I Apply for Financial Aid?

Ontario Student Assistance Program

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a government-funded program which can help students pay for their postsecondary education through grants and loans. Assistance is based on multiple factors, some of which include gross family income, size of family and overall student resources. In order to be considered, students need to apply for the funding on the OSAP website. OSAP has an online aid estimator tool on their website, which you can use to learn how much funding you may be eligible to receive.

More information on OSAP can be found on OSAP’s website and the Student Awards office website.

Once your application is submitted online, you will be required to submit supporting documentation. This can be done by uploading your required documents through your OSAP online account, delivering in person through Service Laurier, or mailing to:

Wilfrid Laurier University, Student Awards Office
75 University Avenue West
Waterloo, Ontario
N2L 3C5

Students who are applying for the first time must also print their Master Student Financial Aid Agreement (MSFAA) form. The completed MSFAA form must be submitted to a designated Postal Office along with the required identification and banking information.

Important Notes:

  • You are required to submit a new OSAP application each year.
  • You are encouraged to complete your OSAP application as early as possible to ensure your funding is available for release in September. OSAP applications submitted with all required documentation by early-July should have funding available for release at the start of term.
  • Regularly review your online OSAP account and your OSAP status in LORIS for updates on the processing of your OSAP application.  Confirmation of enrolment with OSAP begins at the start of each term.
