Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Helping Researchers Work with Industry

We’re here to help researchers who are interested in sharing their projects with the world. Whether you’re looking for an organization or company to work with or want to commercialize an invention, we can help put you in touch with the right people.

We support researchers who would like to participate in joint research with companies, community organizations, not-for-profit organizations and government. With your guidance, we can contact organizations and find out who might be interested in working with you. We even prepare or review the paperwork to ensure that such collaborations meet university policies and that researcher rights are protected.

We’re here to help bridge the transition from creation to commercialization. We provide education and advice to researchers on all matters related to the creation, protection and commercialization of intellectual property via patents, trademarks and copyrights. We even assist researchers with company startups, fundraising and invention marketing.

Intellectual Property

We provide information on Laurier’s intellectual property policies as they affect academic research and commercialization. As a researcher at Laurier, your work can be copyrighted, patented, trademarked or otherwise protected, and we can help you understand your rights as a researcher and creator.

Connecting Industry with Expertise

We help connect industry to Laurier's research experts, provide access to state-of-the-art equipment, and facilitate collaborative research funding opportunities.
