Look into Laurier

Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

At the end of April 2017 faculty and staff will be moving out of the seminary building, which was dedicated in 1963, so that work crews can begin the construction phase of our $9-million renewal and modernization plan.

The project focuses on upgrading building systems and technology, and reconfiguring internal spaces mostly within the current footprint, including:

  • a new entrance facing Bricker Avenue
  • seven state-of-the-art classrooms
  • gathering commons area
  • community room
  • multifaith room to include ablution facilities
  • worship arts centre
  • community pastor office
  • renewed courtyard
  • lobby and welcome centre
  • energy efficient design

Seminary parking lots will not be available during construction. Short-term parking may be available on Lester St., but it is often limited. Visit the parking webpage for other nearby parking options.

Events

We will not be able to host our public events at the seminary during construction. We will be choosing the venues for specific events as they are planned, and will include parking options in our event publicity. For information about upcoming events, view the seminary’s online calendar; and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

If you would like to be notified about coming events by a direct email, please contact Dorinda Kruger Allen at dkrugerallen@wlu.ca and ask to be added to our events email list.

Accessibility

Unfortunately our temporary offices are located in a building that is not accessible. Visitors who have physical challenges are encouraged to contact our office to arrange an alternate meeting location.

Updates

We will be posting weekly updates on the project's progress on our YouTube channel.
