Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Laurier mourns the passing of Peter Sinclair, associate professor of Economics. Peter passed away peacefully at 7:15 p.m. on May 19. Peter was a wonderful colleague who served the department well in the classroom and as undergraduate director.

The funeral arrangements are for 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at The Church of St. Mary Magdalene, 477 Manning Avenue, Toronto.

Visitation hours prior to Peter’s funeral:

  • Friday, May 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglington Ave. W.
  • Saturday, May 23, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at The Church of St. Mary Magdalene, followed by the funeral.

Laurier faculty and staff can honour and remember Peter during a memorial service for him on campus on Monday, May 25 at 4:30 p.m. in the Seminary Chapel. If you have pictures of Peter, you can bring them to the Department of Economics office or send them electronically to Jennifer Dilella at jdilella@wlu.ca before the service. At the service there will be opportunities for people to speak about Peter and for a piece of prose or poetry to be read. If you are interested in speaking, or if you have some words about Peter or a piece of prose or poetry that you would like read at the service, contact Steffen Ziss at sziss@wlu.ca.
