The Department of Economics consists of 28 full-time faculty members in a variety of research fields, who are committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching and research. Our location within the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics enables us to offer programs that combine a traditional education in economics with the acquisition of skills in accounting, management or finance.
A degree in economics provides career possibilities in both the private and public sectors. Laurier economics graduates have been admitted to top graduate schools in North America and Europe. Other graduates have enjoyed successful careers with major corporations and financial institutions, as well as organizations in the public sector.
