Dr. Siu-Cheung Chau was born in Hong Kong. He received his BEd degree in Mathematical Science from the University of Lethbridge in 1982, his MSc and PhD degrees in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University in 1984 and 1990, respectively. He joined the University of Lethbridge Mathematics and Computer Science Department in 1984.
He was the Chair and Associate Professor of the Department from 1994-2000. He was also the President of the University of Lethbridge Faculty Association for two terms. Professor Chau joined Laurier in 2000. He was the chair of the Department of Physics and Computer Science at Wilfrid Laurier University from 2001 to 2005. Currently he is Professor Emeritus in the department of Physics and Computer Science.
His research interest is in dependable computer systems, multi-computer networks, and distributed databases.
