Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.
Instructor, French Horn
Biography / Academic Background
I studied French horn at McGill University (LMus) and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City (BMus).
I have been a member of Laurier’s Faculty of Music since 1978, where my initial role was musician in residence (2006 to 2009).
From 1975-2005, I was a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and the Canadian Chamber Ensemble.
Anecdotal Thoughts on Teaching at Laurier
I wish these things for my students:
That they discover and fulfill their potential.
That they love music and the experience of playing with other musicians.
That they learn to pay attention to their peripheral vision.
