Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I hold an Honours Bachelor of Music (BMus) from Western University and a Bachelor of Education (BEd) from the University of Toronto.
I began my music career playing trombone and fanfare trumpet in the Stratford Festival Orchestra and Orchestra London. I worked for 10 years as a professional freelance trombonist and brass teacher in Canada and Germany. When I returned to Canada, I taught secondary school instrumental and vocal music for 25 years with the Waterloo Regional District School.
I am still very active playing with Brassroots, Slide by Slide (trombone quartet), Wellington Wind Symphony and Full House Brass Quintet. I also play principal trombone with the Stratford Symphony Orchestra and euphonium with Windjammers. I have conducted Ebytown Brass since 1991.
I enjoy arranging music for brass ensembles, attending masterclasses and conferences and touring.
It is very exciting to teach brass to students of all ages. I enjoy observing their progress and growing passion for making music.
Lessons are taught in nine-week cycles.
