In the community, I provide instruction, accompaniment and coaching to the many local musicians on their way to making their mark in the recital, competition and performance world.
I regularly collaborate with Leslie Fagan, Jenn Enns-Modolo, Amy Waller and other musicians and dancers of Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Waterloo, Conrad Grebel, Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Sir John A. MacDonald High School, the KW Strings School, Carousel Dance Company, Royal Academy of Dance and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
Internationally, my career has taken me to France, where I lived and worked for several years. While overseas, I taught privately and accompanied for various soloists and choirs. As a solo artist, I have been invited to perform in France, Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
I hold an honours degree in Piano Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University and have studied with Martin Katz at the University of Michigan.
Attended a one week intensive training program at Opera Nuova. This program featured classes in lyric diction, creative process, scene study, Alexander Technique, daily masterclasses and individual lessons. (May 2013)
I've been teaching at the Beckett school since 2000 after teaching and performing in Europe for 2 years. I've had numerous students successfully complete RCM exams at various levels.
As a piano teacher it is my goal to see a student understand that playing the piano is more than pushing down the correct notes at the right time. That it is a vehicle for self expression. That they can paint pictures with sound.
I am also a collaborative pianist in the Faculty of Music at Laurier. I perform and record with soprano Leslie Fagan.
