Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I began playing the violin at the age of 5 in Sapporo, Japan. I am a graduate of McGill University (BMus), and studied there under the tutelage of Felicia Moye and Mark Fewer. My previous teachers have included DeAnne Eisch and Nancy DiNovo (Vancouver,BC).
I perform throughout Canada, the United States, and Japan as a chamber musician, soloist, and orchestral player. I have performed regularly with the Agora Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and am currently a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra.
I am an avid chamber musician and believe that playing music with other people is one of the best ways to improve as an artist. I teach students of all ages, and find it important to vary my curriculum and approach based on each individual student. I also believe that a strong technical foundation is key to finding expressive freedom as a player and encourage that in all my students. I have experience teaching both from the Suzuki method and the RCM school, depending on the goals and learning structures with which the student works best.
