Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I am a guitarist, guitar instructor and community-music facilitator. I am presently completing my Master's in Community Music at Wilfrid Laurier University.
As a guitar instructor, I have six years of professional teaching experience, having taught the acoustic and the electric guitar to beginner, intermediate as well as advanced students of all ages. I believe in a constructivist approach to music education and design my class based on my students’ needs and genre preference while ensuring my classes are engaging, interesting and enjoyable.
As a guitarist, I have over eight years of performance experience. I have performed as a solo acoustic-fingerstyle guitarist and as a session guitarist along with popular artists across India. Styles I specialize in include acoustic-fingerstyle, rock, metal, Bollywood, folk and pop. I have been a part of various tribute projects to artists such as Maroon 5, Dire Straits, Ed Sheeran, Grateful Dead and Motorhead. Some of my influences include Tommy Emmanuel, Dream Theater, Rush, The Beatles, Dire Straits, Sungha Jung, Steely Dan and John Mayer.
As a community musician and music facilitator, I worked along with a residential community music group in India. We held various events at community centers, public parks, homes, and senior care facilities. I love inspiring and helping people through music participation and involvement.
I believe intrinsic motivation is the key to learning. As a teacher, I hope to inspire, motivate, and build confidence in my students. Teaching is my passion and sharing my knowledge with my students gives me immense joy. I feel a huge sense of achievement on seeing my students improve and develop over time.
