Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I do not believe in the old saying that "those who can't do teach." I have focused my work equally in performance and pedagogy. Recently, I graduated from Florida State University (FSU), where I received a Master of Music (MMus) in Performance – Piano Pedagogy, under the instruction of Diana Dumlavwalla and Read Gainsford. I was awarded a teaching assistantship from FSU and during my studies I was also a finalist in the 2017 Young Artists Concerto Competition.
I am a native of Eastern Ontario, and have performed in venues across the province, as well as in Ohio and Florida including Ruby Diamond Concert Hall, Von Kuster Hall and Westben.
I have taught students ranging in age from four to 87. I teach in both private and group settings, and regularly struggle to decide which type of teaching is most enjoyable! In teaching and in playing, I believe that music has something for everyone, and my aim is to share my own enjoyment of it with students and audiences alike.
I believe that knowledge, skill and passion are the foundation of good piano teaching. From the very beginning of musical study, my goal is to introduce students to the joy of music by setting this example.
