I received my PhD in History from Queen's University in 2022 and my MA in History from the University of Toronto in 2015. Prior to joining Laurier, I was a sessional instructor at McMaster University.
I specialize in the intellectual history of late medieval and early modern Italy, with a particular focus on the Atlantic world. My research explores how the peninsula vicariously participated in the colonization of the Americas. More broadly, my research extends the concept of early modern colonialism beyond explicit acts of conquest.
