I am an Asian historian at Laurier Brantford. Prior to joining Laurier, I taught courses on East Asian history and culture at the University of Toronto. I am also a Curatorial Consultant and Research Associate at the Royal Ontario Museum and worked as the guest curator for the museum’s Korea Gallery.
As a cultural and intellectual historian of East Asia, my academic work has focused on the investigation of Confucian developments in East Asia and beyond. My research interests also encompass art, literature and aesthetics in East Asia. My current research examines the 17th-century Korean text The Collection of Poetic Remarks.
I am willing to supervise graduate students in the areas of Korean and Chinese cultural and intellectual history.
