Over the next term, we look forward to sharing some exciting developments that are in store for Laurier as we continue to implement a strategic plan designed to strengthen our thriving community and help you to gain the knowledge and skills to face the challenges of the future.

Here are some of the newest and most popular services you can access as a Laurier student.
Increase your resilience in the face of academic and social stressors and develop coping skills with the ‘Ride the Wave’ workshops. Held in Waterloo and Brantford, these workshops are free to all students.
The ‘Wellness 101’ workshop series takes you step-by-step through the seven dimensions of wellness and are free to all students. Registration is not required.
The advisors at the Career Centre are here to help you develop your career planning skills needed to enter the workforce after you graduate. All students have access to the Career Centre’s services, including:

Individualized career advising with lifetime access for all Laurier graduates.
The tools to explore and design a career for yourself at any stage of your education.
Laurier’s Waterloo campus is home to four student collectives that provide volunteer, educational and programming opportunities, including the Association of Black Students, Rainbow Centre, Centre for Women and Trans People, and the Muslim Student Association.
Our Brantford and Waterloo campuses also have Indigenous Student Centres with their own educational programming and services. These include peer mentoring, academic skills development, cultural identity guidance, soup lunches, and Elder talks.
New to Canada? The KeepMeSafe counselling service has officially launched, offering online, personal counselling in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Arabic, Spanish, Urdu, Punjabi, plus 30 additional languages within 24 hours of contact. This service is available to first-year international students.
Getting through university will be one of the most challenging and rewarding things you accomplish in your life – but you don’t have to do it alone. Laurier offers a number of academic support programs to ensure you make the most of your time here.

The Writing Centre has helped more than 2,500 student become better academic writers through customized, in-class writing workshops. New writing workshops are now available for students in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies’ ASPIRE program.
A popular support service offered in the Bricker Academic Building with new labs offering help with CP104/164 and EC120/140.
Staying in shape is a great way of maintaining your physical and mental health while studying at Laurier. On the Waterloo campus, the Athletic Complex is home to the Fitness Centre where you can access everything from our olympic-sized swimming pool and strength training equipment to dance classes and rock climbing wall. Students at our Brantford campus have access to the state-of-the-art Laurier Brantford YMCA, featuring a double pool aquatics centre, cycle fit classes, and Spotify and Netflix-enabled cardio equipment.
