Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Print | PDFAs we wind down another academic year and work through the exam period, I want to recognize the hard work and dedication of all our Laurier students. You have finished another semester of university, gained new knowledge and experiences, built new relationships, and are one step closer to achieving your goals.
Over the next two weeks as you write exams, take a disciplined approach to studying and feel confident in what you have learned. At the same time, remember to take breaks to look after your physical and mental health. Plan activities with friends, take time to watch Game of Thrones (or another favourite TV show) and let off some steam at Laurier’s athletic facilities. Short breaks will leave you feeling refreshed and ready for another round of studying. Importantly, make sure you put sleep into your study schedule!
Remember that the faculty and staff at Laurier are here to ensure your success. Reach out to your professors when you have questions about your course material. Make use of the library, academic advising services and the accessible learning centre. If you have physical or mental health concerns, make an appointment at our wellness centres. If you need help, be sure to ask for it.
Best wishes as you finish your semester.
