Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Looking for violin, viola or cello lessons in the Kitchener-Waterloo area? The Laurier String Academy caters to students and children (ages 5 to 18) of all abilities, offering beginner, intermediate and advanced string lessons.

Our violin, viola and cello lessons are based on the methods and philosophies of Mimi Zweig, Shinichi Suzuki and Paul Rolland and are taught by leading Kitchener-Waterloo musicians, experienced teachers and pedagogues.

Using the professional facilities of Wilfrid Laurier University our curriculum incorporates private and group lessons, theory and masterclasses, chamber music and performance opportunities at various concerts.

COVID-19 Update

We are now accepting new students for the 2020/21 school year and invite our current students to register again as soon as possible.

We will be providing the lessons online remotely until further notice from the Ontario Health Officials and the administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. In the Fall term we will not be offering the group classes. They will resume second term in January. We have removed the group classes and accompaniment fees from the tuition in the Fall. The recitals will take place as planned online, or in person if permitted.
