Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.


In order to reserve your place in this program, you must accept your offer of admission through OUAC and submit a non-refundable deposit of $300 (see Payment Options below). We must receive your payment no later than Wednesday, March 15

To accept your offer of admission online:

  1. Visit ouac.on.ca/teas.
  2. Log into your application using your OUAC password/PIN and click on “choices/offers.”
  3. Select and accept Laurier’s offer of admission.
  4. Ensure you receive and record your confirmation number.

Online Webinar

We hosted a webinar on March 5 for accepted students. You can download a copy of the webinar and watch it using a smartphone, computer or tablet. In the webinar, you will hear a presentation from faculty and staff from the Faculty of Education and hear answers to common questions about classes, practicums, campus and more. 

What Do I Do Next?

March 15, 2018

  • Deadline to accept your offer of admission.
  • Submit your $300 non-refundable deposit (see Payment Options below).

Note: We cannot guarantee admission if your deposit is received after the March 15 deadline.

June 1, 2018

June 30, 2018

  • Deadline to submit your final transcript indicating that your degree has been completed (if applicable) to Education Recruitment and Admissions (see mailing address below).

Aug. 27, 2018

  • Deadline to submit a copy of the vulnerable sector police record check to the Faculty of Education (see mailing address below).

Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, to Friday, Aug. 31, 2018

  • Attend the mandatory Professional Teaching Orientation Week.

Sept. 4, 2018

  • Attend your first field day at your Professional Development School (PDS) site.

Other Important Tasks

  • Register with the Accessible Learning Office (if applicable): it is recommended you register once you have confirmed your offer of admission.
  • Register for parking: residence students can indicate they require parking when they apply for residence. Non-residence students can apply for parking when they have registered for courses. Parking passes will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Ensure your computer meets our technology requirements, outlined below.

Faculty of Education Webinar

Our online webinars are hosted live and can be viewed through the use of a computer, smartphone or tablet as long as you have an internet connection – all from the comfort of your own home. Talk with our faculty members about the program, what it has to offer you, and what it’s like to be a student at Laurier.

Online Banking Method

We highly encourage you to make your payment at least three days in advance of the March 15 fee due date to ensure your payment makes it on time.

  1. Log into your financial institution’s online banking site.
  2. Navigate to the website’s bill payment section.
  3. Set up Wilfrid Laurier University as a payee.
  4. Your account number is your Laurier student ID number.

Certified Cheques

We highly encourage you to mail your payment well in advance of the March 15 fee due date to ensure your payment makes it on time.

  1. Please ensure your full name and student number are included with your payment.
  2. A certified cheque is a form of payment obtained through your bank that ensures funds are available at the time of payment.

Technology Requirements

PC or MacBook

  • Runs Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate 32 or 64 bit (preferred). Windows 10 preferred.
  • OS X Yosemite or newer.
  • At least 4 GB of ram (8+ preferred), 100 GB free hard drive space, i5 or i7 processor.

  • Up to date with system updates and runs current antivirus software.
